e-books

basis, n. There has to be a moment at the beginning when you wonder whether you’re in love with the person or in love with the feeling of love itself. If the moment doesn’t pass, that’s it —– you’re done.
And if the moment does pass, it never goes that far. It stands in the distance, ready for whenever you want it back. Sometimes it’s even there when you thought you were searching for something else, like an escape route, or your lover’s face.

excerpt from The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan

I got hooked with e-books in early 2012 after Ave introduced me to the different sources of the books. My first hand me down e-book reader is Literati. Nanay got it from her boss, and later on gave it to Mami, but the latter was too lazy to tinker it, so I was the one exploring it.I was able to read some old classic books from the reader. Then later on I realized that I can read new best sellers from it. The first triology I got to finish was the Highlander (McCabe) Series of Maya Banks. Then, I got to finish two books of the Hunger Games series when finally Literati gave in.

I was so hooked with the books that I felt so restless not having any e-book reader with me. I borrowed my cousin's itouch so that I can start reading the third installment of Hunger games. Ok, I guess, it was not just the reader, but I fell quite hard with Hunger Games that I could not even think clearly during office hours wondering what the ending would be.

Weeks later, I decided to buy Kindle 4. Why Kindle 4 and not Kindle Fire? Well, for one my brother has a kindle fire and I feel like kindle fire is just another android where you may download other apps for games, which somehow defeats the purpose of having an e-book reader.

Kindle 4 is mainly for reading, no fancy color and other fancy stuff. So after 12 months of owning a kindle 4, I've read a number of books both serious and not. I have enjoyed the gadget.

Anyways, lately, I have been using the kindle fire HD of my tita luchie, and I am now enjoying the colored features of kindle fire. Hehe! I am enjoying the fact that I can read at night without turning on the lights. And lately, I am so hooked with John Green and David Levithan. :) I guess, I am one of those few individuals who have adjusted pretty well from reading an actual book to reading through an e-book reader. :) Oh, I have tried reading through iBooks from both iTouch and iPad.
