Wow, I might really experience martial law again as an adult. Last time we had martial law was in the early 70s until until early 80s. At the moment, it is contained in Mindanao. Tomorrow, might be Visayas and next time I wake up might be the whole Luzon.
Duterte has been abusive with regards to his war in drugs. Now, he has an excuse to declare Martial Law. Fine. Fine.
I don't think Duterte is really a pro-Moro president. He declared martial law in the ARMM- contained in the ARMM. And we know, the history of abuses to our fellow Muslims, and I just can not grasp why he seems ok to have the Moros as collateral damage.
Yes, there is threat of terrorism. Didn't his the intel reported that to him already? Did he just shoo the threat and did not take it seriously the moment he assumed his role as president.
Cities like Davao, Zamboanga are lucky because the government seems to be pro-oligarchs. The poorest of the poor are in ARMM and they are the most vulnerable when it comes Martial Law.
